Since its foundation in 1992 Europt(r)ode has grown to become one of the major optical sensor conferences worldwide. After successful meetings in Graz (Austria), Firenze (Italy), Zurich (Switzerland), Münster (Germany), Lyon (France), Manchester (United Kingdom), Madrid (Spain), Tuebingen (Germany), Dublin (Ireland) and Prague (Czech Republic), Europt(r)ode is coming to Barcelona (Spain).
The EUROPT(R)ODE Conference series encompasses all aspects related to the research, development and applications of optical chemical sensors and biosensors. The Conference is the premier worldwide forum for the presentation of innovations in optical sensing, showing both cutting-edge integration concepts and key emerging trends in a highly multi-disciplinary atmosphere. This biannual Conference presents a unique opportunity, of interest to both academic and industrial researchers, to discuss and exchange the latest developments in this extremely challenging field.
Scientists are invited to submit their original contributions in one or more of the following topics:
- Recent advances or new ideas in optical detection and transducing mechanisms
- Integrated optical systems, point-of-care and lab-on-a-chip optical platforms
- Novel optoelectronic instrumentation and components. Miniaturization and automation.
- Micro-, nano- and optical sensors arrays
- Novel molecular receptors and new strategies of surface (bio)functionalization for optical sensing
- Multiplexed detection in complex matrices
- Impactful application is areas such as genomics, proteomics, medical diagnostics, pharmacology, health care, intracellular sensing, environmental monitoring, food analysis, agriculture, defense, and security
- Novel commercial devices
Some reasons for attending Europt(r)ode XI:
- The Europt(r)ode Series has become the world's leading conference on optical chemical sensing and biosensing after its foundation in 1992.
- The event will provide plenary and keynote lectures plus two parallel sessions of top-quality scientific/technical presentations and poster displays of interest to academic and industrial researchers alike.
- This biannual Conference presents a unique opportunity to discuss and exchange the latest developments in this extremely challenging field. Scientists from more than 30 countries participated in the last conference.
Europt(r)ode 2012 will be a two and half day event combining plenary presentations followed by parallel sessions. In addition to invited lectures, selected oral contributions describing original work will be included in the parallel sessions. Poster presentations are one of the main activities of the Conference and will follow a rigorously refereed selection of submitted papers.
The forthcoming edition of Europt(r)ode will be held in Barcelona (Spain) from 1st to 4th April, 2012. Conference will be chair by Prof. Laura M. Lechuga (Spanish National Research Council) and will take place at AXA Auditorium and NH Constanza Hotel, closely located to Barcelona downtown with excellent communications by public transportation.
